The China Industry Placement Program Scholarship has been established to enrich the student experience and promote the international profile of this program.
a. The China Industry Placement Program Scholarship has been established to enrich the student experience and promote the international profile of this program.
a. To be eligible for the Scholarship, applicants must be in a coursework degree in the University of Sydney Business School at the University of Sydney. Combined degree students are also eligible.
b. Applicants must be currently enrolled in BUSS2504 or BUSS6506.
c. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 48 credit points of study with a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70.
d. Eligible students who have previously received a Business School scholarship for a WIL Hub unit of study may only receive an additional Business School scholarship or additional funding (including funding under an NCP grant or an Endeavour Plan grant) for a WIL Hub unit of study with written approval of the Associate Dean (Student Success and Mobility).
e. Eligible students who have previously received funding for a WIL Hub unit from sources outside the Business School (including funding under an NCP grant, an Endeavour Plan grant, or Global Mobility funding) may only receive a Business School scholarship for WIL Hub units of study with the written approval of the Associate Dean (Student Success and Mobility).
a. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of:
I. academic merit,
II. approval to undertake the China Industry Placement Program,
III. online interview, and
IV. a personal statement demonstrating leadership capabilities both inside and outside the classroom.
b. The Scholarship will be awarded by the Selection Committee consisting of at least two Business School staff, as nominated by the Associate Dean (Student Success and Mobility), or their nominee.
a. The Scholarship is valued at $3,000.
b. The Scholarship is a one-off payment paid during the first month of placement.
c. Deferral of the Scholarship is not permitted, and it is not transferable for another purpose.
d. The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.
e. No other amount is payable.
a. To continue receipt of the Scholarship, the recipient must remain enrolled in BUSS2504 or BUSS6506 and complete all program requirements.
a. The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:
I. withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol,
II. fails to enrol in or withdraws from BUSS2504 or BUSS6506,
III. commence part-time study or leave of absence without prior approval,
IV. does not maintain satisfactory academic performance,
V. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application,
VI. accepts an alternative scholarship, administered by the University of Sydney for a similar purpose. In such circumstances, this scholarship will be terminated in favour of the alternative scholarship where the alternative scholarship is of higher value.
VII. does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave, or
VIII. any other provision as indicated in these terms that would lead to termination.
b. Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated unless due to University error.
c. Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or the Scholarship is terminated under any instance in the Termination Clause of these terms and conditions, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.
a. The recipient may be invited to promote the Placement Program and represent the University of Sydney Business School at associated events.
