This scholarship was established to recognise and support talented students to achieve their full potential.
The University of Sydney Business School aims to recognise and support talented students to achieve their full potential by offering the Inspired By Business Scholarship. Scholarships will be awarded each year to students who are studying at a high school identified by the Government as being ‘low socioeconomic’ or experiencing financial hardship at the time they apply for the Inspired by Business Scholarship.
The scholarships are awarded to recipients who:
An application is submitted on the recommendation of the School Principal. Commencing in 2014 submissions are accepted via the University of Sydney’s E12 Scheme. Applicants are assessed on personal attributes such as leadership, initiative and creativity, along with outstanding extracurricular achievement and a proficient academic record.
The Inspired by Business Scholarship is awarded for a standard semester full-time load of three years duration and is valued at $10,000.00 per annum.
The scholarship will be paid in two instalments annually. Payment is arranged via the Business School following census dates (in April and September) each year and pending the recipient meeting progression rules.
Continuation of the scholarship is dependent on the recipient meeting degree requirements and maintaining a grade average that is deemed satisfactory by the Business School each semester. Satisfactory progression for this award is deemed as a minimum PASS grade in each unit undertaken by the recipient.
The recipient must be enrolled in a standard full-time semester load of 24 credit points each semester, in the agreed degree program, during the tenure of their scholarship. If extenuating circumstances arise, the recipient may submit a request to decrease their enrolment to a minimum full-time load of 18 credit points per semester but only with the permission of the University of Sydney Business School.
A confirmed offer of a scholarship must be taken up by enrolment in the nominated program in the semester for which the offer is made. The scholarship cannot be deferred.
Each scholarship is offered for, and is tenable in, a specific degree program and is not transferable to another degree program, except with the permission of the University of Sydney Business School. If permission is granted and the degree program to which the recipient is transferring is of greater duration, the tenure of the scholarship will not be lengthened accordingly.
The scholarship will be terminated if:
Once terminated, the scholarship will not be reinstated.
