This scholarship is valued at $5000 for one semester only.
This scholarship is provided by the School of Languages and Cultures to support Bachelor of Arts (Languages) students going on exchange.
a. The Bachelor of Arts (Languages) Exchange Scholarship is provided by the School of Languages and Cultures to support students within the Bachelor of Arts (Languages) degree going on exchange.
a. Applicants must be currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts (Languages) degree at the University of Sydney.
b. Applicants must have been accepted into a University of Sydney Exchange program with an overseas institution with which the Faculty or University has a current student exchange agreement.
a. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of:
i. a letter of acceptance from our Global Mobility Office for an exchange semester, and
ii. a letter from the partner University.
b. The Scholarship will be awarded on the nomination of Degree Director in the Faculty of School of Languages and Cultures, or their nominated delegate.
a. The Scholarship is valued at $5000 per semester and is tenable for one semester only.
b. The Scholarship value will be paid in a single instalment.
c. Deferral of the Scholarship is not permitted without the prior permission of the Degree Director of the School of Languages and Cultures and it is not transferable to another University school, faculty or university.
d. The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.
e. No other amount is payable.
a. None apply.
a. The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:
i. withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol, ii. does not undertake the approved University of Sydney Exchange program,
iii. makes significant changes to the approved Exchange program without prior approval from the Degree Director,
iv. commences part-time study without prior approval,
v. does not maintain satisfactory academic performance,
vi. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application,
vii. does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave, or
viii. any other provision as indicated in these terms that would lead to termination.
b. Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated unless due to University error.
c. Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or withdraws from the relevant course, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.
