This scholarship was established in 2021 and is funded by Corrs Chambers Westgarth to provide support to students in the University of Sydney Law School’s Summer Innovation Program.
The Summer Innovation Program (SIP) brings together students from across the University to identify, understand and explore innovative solutions at the nexus between law, science, and technology.
a. This Scholarship was established in 2021 and is funded by Corrs Chambers Westgarth to provide support to students in the University of Sydney Law School’s Summer Innovation Program.
b. The Summer Innovation Program (SIP) brings together students from across the University to identify, understand and explore innovative solutions at the nexus between law, science, and technology.
a. The Scholarship is offered subject to the applicant being currently enrolled in either full-time or part-time in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree at the University of Sydney.
b. Applicants who are graduands at the University of Sydney are also eligible.
c. Applicants must be registered in the Summer Innovation Program at the University of Sydney.
a. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of:
I. academic merit,
II. being registered in the Summer Innovation Program at the University of Sydney, and
III. personal statements demonstrating:
i. interest in law, science and technology as well as in interdisciplinarity and design thinking,
ii. ability to work in a team and contribute to the development of original ideas.
b. The Scholarship will be awarded by the Dean of the Sydney Law School and the Head of Strategic Partnerships and Engagement of the Sydney Law School, or their nominated delegates.
a. The Scholarship is valued at $1,000 and is paid as a one-off payment.
b. Deferral of the Scholarship is not permitted.
c. The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.
d. No other amount is payable.
a. The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:
I. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application, and
II. any other provision as indicated in these terms that would lead to termination.
b. Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated unless due to University error.
c. Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or the Scholarship is terminated under any instance in the Termination Clause of these terms and conditions, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.
