Whether you need a collaborative working space, access to a computer or a place to plug in your laptop, we have spaces all over our campuses for you to study.
Access to library and study spaces
We have made the decision to keep our library and study spaces open and we need everyone who is able to wear a mask to do so, as required under the public health orders, so we that we can continue to offer these spaces to students who need them. Please wear a mask and make sure you are familiar with the conditions of entry in study spaces and the library before visiting campus.
The Carslaw Learning Hub, Camden Commons and The Quarter (for postgraduate students) study spaces will be open 6am-11pm from the start of Semester 2.
Fisher Library and the Law School Library will be open from 12pm – 8pm, seven days a week. Online service and support remains available. Please check the Library website for further information.
All computers managed by ICT in our study spaces are virtual desktops. They provide access to standard software, as well as course-specific applications. You can customise your virtual desktop so that bookmarks, applications and downloads are available on any of our computers when you log in.
You can find computers on the campus map by selecting ‘Computer access centres’.
At the end of each study session, remember to keep a backup of your work by emailing it to yourself, saving it to an external USB or to an online file storage service such as Dropbox or iCloud.
COVID-19 public health orders are currently in place in NSW which require you to work or study from home if you are able to do so. If you are not able to do so, for example, because you do not have access to a safe or effective home environment, you may use our study spaces on campus.
To enter a study space or a library, you must complete the conditions of entry form upon arrival. By doing so, you are acknowledging the conditions of entry and the requirements to wear a mask or provide proof of an exemption if applicable. In addition, you must maintain 1.5m physical distancing and practise good hygiene.
To keep our community safe, you may be asked to leave if you do not comply with these conditions of entry.
Library locations have reopened to University of Sydney staff and students with a valid staff or student ID card. For the most up-to-date information on access, please see the Library’s COVID-19 library updates and support page.
