If you want to enrol in a January or February 2021 intensive, there are some key changes which you need to know.
For January and February 2021 intensives, we will continue to offer many units of study remotely, as well as on campus. When you select your units in Sydney Student, make sure you check the location code and choose whether you want to study a remote or on campus unit. Find out more about selecting units of study in Sydney Student.
Be aware, you will need to have received your Semester 2 2020 results and been invited to re-enrol to select a unit in a January or February intensive. As Semester 2 results will be published up to 14 January 2021 and the deadline for the last day to add a unit of study in a January 2021 intensive is 8 January, you may be unable to enrol in a January intensive. The deadline for the last day to add a unit of study in a February 2021 intensive is 20 January.
Timetables for January and February intensives will be managed in Sydney Timetable. Learn more about the new system and its key features.
You can view the proposed timetable for January and February intensives on the 2021 Timetable page. These timetables are indicative only and subject to change until you receive your personalised timetable in Sydney Timetable. If you can't find a unit of study you're searching for in the 2021 Timetable page, you should check the shared timetables page which list the units that share the same timetable.
After you complete your enrolment in Sydney Student, you will need to log in to Sydney Timetable and allocate yourself to available classes for the intensives that you have enrolled in. Unlike in previous years, staff in faculties and schools will no longer allocate you to classes for intensive units.
There is no preferencing period for January and February intensives, so you will be able to allocate yourself to a class straight away. Find out how to allocate yourself to a class on the review and adjust page.
If you don’t allocate yourself to your classes before the deadline, you will be allocated classes by the Timetabling Team. This may mean you do not get allocated your preferred classes. For January intensives, the deadline to allocate yourself classes is 31 December. For February intensives, the deadline to allocate yourself classes is 15 January.
If you are unable to allocate to classes due to exceptional circumstances, you can use our online form to request assistance with your timetable for January and February intensive units of study. For your request to be considered, you need to include any required supporting documents.
You will be able to access your timetable for intensives before the release of the main semester timetable. Find out more general information about studying in an intensive session.
