The Bachelor of Advanced Studies is a combined four (sometimes five) year undergraduate degree that offers you the flexibility to explore multiple interests and to distinguish yourself in your final year.

If you are a Commonwealth Supported student (who commenced your degree prior to 2021) and you are considering transferring to a combined Bachelor of Advanced Studies degree at the University of Sydney, please be aware that this transfer will be treated as a new course enrolment. This means you will be charged the new Jobs-ready Graduates Package fee rate for units going forward in your new degree. Any units you have already studied will be credited to your new course and noted as paid under the old rates. Please carefully check information on fees.

The Bachelor of Advanced Studies is an additional year of intensive study that complements your prior studies and deepens your expertise in your chosen field. It can increase your employment prospects or enable you to pursue further research.
The Bachelor of Advanced Studies can be completed via the Coursework or Honours pathways (see below).
The Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Coursework) provides an opportunity to experience work outside the classroom by collaborating on a substantial real-world project in a professional, community or entrepreneurial setting.
You'll also undertake advanced units that challenge and hone your critical thinking abilities.

The Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Honours) provides an opportunity to undertake a supervised but independent research project as well as connected advanced Honours coursework. It is open to high achieving students who have completed an undergraduate degree with two majors and meet the admission criteria.
If you do not have two majors or are not on track to complete them in your undergraduate degree, you can consider an appended honours year instead.
