Join us this semester (S1 2021) to explore Southeast Asia through the Chau Chak Wing Museum’s rich and varied collections.
The Sydney Southeast Asia Centre’s flagship interdisciplinary undergraduate field schools to Southeast Asia remain on hold due to the travel restrictions associated with COVID-19. But Southeast Asia remains as vibrant, important and engaging as ever, and we are keen to share our passion for this region with students from across the University. In the absence of international travel, we’ve put together an exciting program with the University’s new Chau Chak Wing Museum, to either introduce you to Southeast Asia for the first time, or to remind you of its complexity and diversity.
Over five stimulating weeks, we will use object-based learning workshops to learn about themes relating to economic and social development, environment and resources, health, heritage and the arts, and state and society within the context of Southeast Asia. There are no assessment and no assignments – this is all about creativity, connection and community.
