Applying for academic jobs can be a daunting process. This workshop is designed to help higher degree research students think strategically about how to approach the job application process and what you can do to give yourself a competitive edge.

The University of Sydney will bring together research students from Sydney and other Australian Universities to participate in a one-day postgraduate workshop exploring these issues and more. The workshop will include presentations from academics who will be presenting at the SSEAC Politics in Action Forum on 19 May 2017. This includes academics currently working in Australia, Southeast Asia, the USA and Europe.

The workshop is open to any postgraduate SSEAC members, both at the University of Sydney and other Universities around Australia.
The workshop will also include professional development skills and networking opportunities, so you can meet fellow postgraduate students with complementary research interests.

Grant opportunity

SSEAC is offering 10 travel grants to postgraduate students residing outside of Sydney to attend this workshop. This grant is intended to contribute towards transportation and accommodation costs to attend the workshop.
