For students in the Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience: completion of years 1-3, a second/third year WAM commensurate with obtaining honours and approval of the faculty to enrol. For students in the Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Honours): completion of a relevant major, completion of a second major or minor (minor to be converted to a major during the student's final year), WAM of at least 65 and approval of the faculty

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:

  • LO1. identify, locate and critically analyse information from various sources including academic texts, scientific and animal industry/farm management publications
  • LO2. resolve animal production or genetics problems through the application of appropriate principles, concepts and skills in relevant disciplines
  • LO3. communicate clearly about issues of animal production or genetics using the same written, verbal and visual communication methods used in the scientific and professional disciplines
  • LO4. critically evaluate their own work and that of their peers and provide constructive feedback
  • LO5. appreciate the subtleties of research work and all that it entails.
