This unit aims to equip students with the analytical and design tools essential to understand building performance. By the end of the unit, students will demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental principles of building performance at both macro and micro scales. They will be able to select and apply appropriate methodologies for measuring and predicting building performance, utilizing simulation tools for detailed analysis. Students will integrate knowledge from building physics to identify and evaluate solutions for enhancing building performance. Additionally, they will develop strong communication skills to effectively convey complex building physics concepts and simulation results with the use of both qualitative and quantitative techniques.
