The unit develops cross-disciplinary understanding by integrating perspectives from international business, work and organisational studies, marketing, business information systems, logistics, strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship. Students examine how problems in business and society are defined, framed, and analysed through the lens of wicked problems and grand challenges. They explore the roles of stakeholders, organisations, and systems in shaping both challenges and responses. As the semester progresses, the unit engages students with ethical and Indigenous perspectives, globalisation, supply chain resilience, innovation, and digital transformation. Through authentic cases and collaborative problem-solving activities, students learn to analyse complex challenges and develop responsible, sustainable, and evidence-based responses for business and society.
