This unit provides students with the opportunity to learn how to apply business knowledge and skills to address complex social problems. Students work alongside social enterprises to help solve a problem identified by the project partners as crucial to their organisations or a communitys long term sustainability.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:

  • LO1. critically evaluate issues relating to complex social, environmental and economic challenges experienced by Indigenous enterprises.
  • LO2. identify and evaluate social innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities in an Indigenous context
  • LO3. develop a strategy for an Indigenous enterprise
  • LO4. prepare and present documentation to secure stakeholder support
  • LO5. apply the empathy, creativity and influence required of an effective social entrepreneur working in partnership with Indigenous communities
  • LO6. reflect on Indigenous culture and social entrepreneurship in theory and practice
