CEPI5207: Teaching Clinical Epidemiology

2020 unit information

This unit aims to further a student's knowledge and skills in teaching clinical epidemiology. Students will undertake a project under supervision where they will develop a teaching and learning resource based upon the teaching and learning they have been exposed to in the Clinical Epidemiology Program at the University of Sydney. There is no additional face-to-face teaching. By the end of this unit, students are expected to develop, teach, assess and evaluate a clinical epidemiology teaching and learning resource of at least 9 hours-equivalent face-to-face teaching time. Students will also reflect on their own learning in during this unit of study.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:

  • LO1. develop a teaching and learning resource in clinical epidemiology relevant to the target audience and setting
  • LO2. deliver a teaching and learning resource in clinical epidemiology which is relevant to the target audience and setting
  • LO3. develop and use an assessment tool appropriate for the teaching and learning resource
  • LO4. develop and use a method of evaluation appropriate for the teaching and learning resource
  • LO5. reflect on project-work learning, undertake a self-appraisal, and consider future improvements in your approach
  • LO6. satisfy expectations around project participation and management in this unit of study.
