CPNO3611: Recital Preparation 1

2026 unit information

The Recital Preparation units enable preparation for an upcoming performance through coaching-rehearsals with staff from the Collaborative Piano Discipline, focusing on collaborative and chamber music skills, and culminating in an end-of-Semester performance. Instrumental (non-Piano) and Vocal students may undertake this course unit to work with a staff Collaborative Pianist, with whom they will rehearse and perform in their required Principal Study recital. Conducting students may also take this unit to prepare a required recital with a member of the Collaborative Piano staff. Piano Performance students may undertake this unit if they wish to work on a Piano Concerto with Collaborative Piano staff for presentation in either their Principal Study Recital or in a separate Jury Performance. Collaborative Piano Principal Study students may undertake this unit to prepare for their Principal Study recital and will be assigned a Staff Instrumentalist and/or Singer with whom they will rehearse and perform. Lastly, the unit may also be taken by Pianists who wish to prepare a short instrumental and/or vocal program with a student colleague (to be coached by a member of the Collaborative Piano staff) or Collaborative Piano students who wish to undertake a semester in a specialised Collaborative area.
