This unit is designed to teach students how deal with complicated situations in relation to case completion. The students are required to learn all of the procedures of terminating the treatment, including establishing a proper protocol for retention. They are also required to learn the protocols of case treatment summary and case records archiving.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:

  • LO1. Proficiently summarise patient’s records, formulate comprehensive treatment plan and present it to tutors and peers and demonstrate and advanced understanding of complicated situations in relation to case completion
  • LO2. Competently demonstrate the use of various contemporary fixed, removable and functional appliances, and to treat with various appliance techniques and treatment philosophies
  • LO3. Demonstrate a good understanding of practice management and the daily routine of a private clinical practice
  • LO4. Demonstrate advance skills needed to recognise the underlying principle, outcome and complications of adult, interdisciplinary and orthognathic surgical treatment
  • LO5. Combine and integrate various orthodontic techniques and wire bending skills and apply them to resolve individual problems
  • LO6. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge on advanced orthodontic techniques such as Suresmile, Invisalign, Insignia, lingual orthodontics and skeletal anchorage system
  • LO7. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the procedures of terminating the treatment, including establishing a proper protocol for retention
