DENT6043 Special Needs Dentistry III expands on the knowledge and skills obtained from Special Needs Dentistry I and II. Students will manage treatment of patients with more complex care needs, involving interdisciplinary care and interprofessional collaborative practice. This unit covers the theoretical background and clinical experience necessary for providing rational dental care for people with special needs, in different environments, including in community settings for people with severe disability and mental illness and frail older adults in RACFs, including those in secure dementia care units, and people with complex medical conditions.
