DRUM2304: Drum Set Ensemble 4

Drum Set Ensemble 4 represents the fourth semester of a six-semester course in drum set ensemble performance developed as a component of Bachelor of Music Performance Drum Set. The course features a primary focus on rhythmic cohesion, stylistic diversity, historical overview, rhythmic fluency and awareness, dynamic control, and theoretical frameworks. A primary aim of the course is to provide students with a range of communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:

  • LO1. manipulate a range of rhythmic practices, stylistic areas, sticking vocabularies, and improvisational frameworks/procedures
  • LO2. manipulate developmental processes that allow for the creation of personal rhythmic vocabulary
  • LO3. communicate effectively in ways that allow for multi-disciplinary collaborative action.
