This unit of study aims to provide students with advanced theoretical knowledge and skill sets for analysing macroeconomic policy issues and understanding modern macroeconomic policy debates. Lectures are in two parts: a critical appraisal of theoretical models commonly used to provide insight into macroeconomic policy. This provides background for the second part of lectures focused on specific and topical macroeconomic policy issues not just within Australia, but also internationally.
