This is the fourth and final unit within the health discipline area. In this unit, students explore a range of contemporary, local and global health issues and examine the concept of health promotion and the role health promotion plays in addressing contemporary health issues. By exploring health promotion frameworks such as the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion, Health Promotion in a Globalized World and the Sustainable Development Goals, students gain an understanding of the role of health promotion in empowering individuals and specific population groups to improve their health and wellbeing.
