This is the second unit of study for both single and double mathematics method secondary pre-service teachers. The focus of this unit of study is a detailed examination of the school mathematics curriculum to develop student teachers' knowledge and understanding of the mathematics curriculum requirements and appropriate pedagogy in Stage 5. Building on their understandings from Mathematics Curriculum 1, student teachers will examine the mathematics curriculum to develop appropriate models of pedagogy for teaching and assessment. Additional strategies for differentiating the curriculum and embedding technology into lessons will be explored.
