EDPF5022: Programming and Digital Systems

2021 unit information

This unit explores the technical foundations of programming and computer networking, including the flow of data and how the internet works. Students will develop practical skills in solving real-world problems with code, and tracing and testing solutions. Students will develop a digital technologies classroom resource or assessment task around authentic programming problems.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:

  • LO1. Demonstrate a deep understanding of digital systems and an understanding of programming for use in Digital Technologies as taught in primary and secondary schools.
  • LO2. Explore recent international and national research into teaching programming and digital systems.
  • LO3. Design differentiated learning pathways and assessment that incorporate data, information and digital literacy.
  • LO4. Demonstrate the ability to develop intercultural awareness and understanding in teaching programs and assessment tasks.
