2024 unit information

In this Unit of Study students will gain mastery of basso continuo realisation through intensive study and application of figured bass principles, improvisation, ornamentation, score reading, harmonic hierarchy and its implications, and general principles of bass line playing in relevant chamber and orchestral repertoire. There is a strong focus on historical and stylistic awareness through research of relevant pedagogical texts, discussion and application.
