This unit introduces students to the principles and practices of air and noise pollution control in environmental engineering systems. The unit examines the sources, behaviour, monitoring, modelling, and mitigation of air and noise pollutants, as well as the engineering technologies used to reduce their impacts on human health and the environment. Students will develop skills in analysing pollutant dispersion, evaluating pollution control systems, interpreting environmental data, and applying engineering principles and regulatory frameworks to practical environmental problems and case studies.
