This unit gives students the opportunity to build further on language knowledge and translation skills, while developing expertise in the literary study of Ancient Greek texts. It involves the close reading and analysis of classic works of Ancient Greek poetry and/or prose. Attention will be paid to the literary qualities, style and narrative technique, as well as to generic and socio-historical background of the texts, and to the intricacies of grammar and syntax. Authors and texts will vary from year to year.
