ITLN1611: Italian 1
This unit of study is for absolute beginners with no previous knowledge of the language. It introduces students to the main structures of the Italian language and the basic vocabulary to communicate successfully in everyday situations. All four language skills are developed, with a particular focus on grammatical accuracy.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:
- LO1. display linguistic knowledge appropriate to the unit of study’s European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level (A1) or equivalent
- LO2. demonstrate a standard of oral and written communication skills in Italian appropriate to the unit of study’s European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level (A1) or equivalent
- LO3. understand and practise the highest standards of ethical behaviour associated with University studies
- LO4. demonstrate responsibility for your own learning; work effectively in teams and other collaborative contexts
- LO5. demonstrate ability to use online tools that can assist you promote your language learning
