At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:

  • LO1. translate texts from a variety of genres and topic areas
  • LO2. exploit dictionaries, on-line resources and thesauri
  • LO3. deal with problems of register and forms of address
  • LO4. conduct self-reflection and critical analysis in order to identify and adopt translation strategies
  • LO5. conduct background research and use teamwork to analyse and translate texts
  • LO6. understand professional ethical issues.
