2024 unit information
This unit provides an analysis of the connections, disconnections and tensions between law, morality and politics in modernity, with a focus on contemporary liberal democratic societies. It employs methodologies and concepts derived from critical social theory and philosophy including those of Kant, Hegel, Marx, Weber, radical feminism, Frankfurt School critical theory (Habermas & Honneth) and French post-structuralism (Foucault and Derrida).
