Fundamentals of Finance Law provides an overview of the key statutory, regulatory and doctrinal principles that govern commercial finance arrangements in Australia. A range of common commercial financial arrangements will be considered. The unit examines how contract, agency, property, corporations, trusts and insolvency law shape financial transactions and considers how financial assets are defined and created, traded, and used as security. The unit provides an introduction to foundational concepts used in finance that will prepare students for further advanced studies in commercial, corporate and insolvency law.
