LNGS3705: Language in the Media

2027 unit information

‘You won't believe what happens next (and it's not what you think)!’ This unit examines language use in the media, introducing new linguistic frameworks for analysis of language across different communicative contexts. We will explore differences between the language of various types of media texts, and relationships between language and visual elements. The language of social media and news texts will form a special focus of the unit.
