At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:

  • LO1. Understand identity and how it is related to language
  • LO2. Recognize a wide variety of different communicative activities or genres used in relation to language and identity
  • LO3. Deconstruct how language is used to enact, construct and negotiate identities
  • LO4. Engage with and critically apply their understanding of language and identity to various cultural contexts such as business communication, tourism, social media and early childhood development
