MECO3609: Critical Practice in Media

2020 unit information

This unit of study is designed to draw together elements of theoretical and practical knowledge that students have acquired in their studies of media and communications. Students will produce a significant piece of work, based on research in the aligned unit MECO3673 Research Practices, which demonstrates an awareness of how critical thinking and media production are capable of mutually informing each other in practice.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:

  • LO1. research and produce an independent project that revisits, reinterprets , challenges and/or engages in one or more debates or practices in your chosen field of media and communications
  • LO2. demonstrate some of the skills you have acquired over the course of your BA(MECO) degree
  • LO3. ideally integrate learning and knowledge gained from other disciplines in the course of your degree (interdisciplinarity)
  • LO4. demonstrate the capacity to work in a team.
