This unit of study builds on the foundational knowledge and skills gained in NURS2020 Foundations of Wellbeing and Mental Health, providing students with an opportunity to extend their understanding of compromised mental health and to explore a range of complex mental health issues across the lifespan. A focus on therapeutic approaches in mental health will provide students with the opportunity to further develop their knowledge and skills in the use of a person-centred and culturally safe approach which values lived experience, and is informed by recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and strengths-based principles.
