OLET1404: Student Leadership: Peer Mentoring

This OLE aims to give students theoretical and practical underpinning for their leadership aspirations and provide students with the opportunity to develop and practise relevant skills. The curriculum includes provision of foundational areas to support and inform study into leadership skills, the opportunity to broadly apply leadership skills and a strong focus on personal development and communication. The UoS comprises of a core 0 CP UoS called Student Leadership: Core and a 2 CP UoS called Student Leadership: Peer Mentoring whereby the focus is on students building effective leadership skills to lead a peer group or facilitate peer activities. Students wishing to extend their leadership knowledge can undertake related Student Leadership OLEs in Representation and Community engagement, each of 2 credits points, to Excluded From Module Registration: Description: This OLE aims to give students theoretical and practical underpinning for their leadership aspirations and provide students with the opportunity to develop and practise relevant skills.   • LO3. discuss key theoretical principles underpinning mentorship
  • LO4. prompt and facilitate discussion through effective questioning
  • LO5. demonstrate confidence in your ability to facilitate group discussions.
