Digital information is pervasive in organizations, and it is transforming project delivery. This unit will help students understand the opportunities and challenges of using and synthesizing and delivering different forms digital information in project conception and delivery to deliver project outcomes. The characteristics of digital information are that it is shareable, accessible remotely, searchable and updateable. Digital information is a deliverable of projects as well as a means of delivery. Students will be introduced to the innovation challenges that digital information presents to project managers, as new methods and approaches emerge during the delivery phase of the project; the opportunity of data-driven methods and real-time data analytics; and the transformative nature of new technologies such as digitally enabled product platforms in project-based industries.
