At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:
- LO1. show an understanding of the principal figurings and symbols commonly encountered in a figured bass and deliver a coherent and stylistically convincing accompaniment to a recitative and aria by G.Ph.Telemann, J.S. Bach or other works of appropriate difficulty (beginner students)
- LO2. realise musically creative and stylistically appropriate improvisations in the style of G.F.Handel (advanced students)
- LO3. deliver at the keyboard a fluent and accurate reading of a four part open score containing F and G clefs (advanced students)
- LO4. transpose a hymn up or down a tone or semitone at sight (advanced students)
- LO5. harmonise a given melody by adding three lower parts (advanced students).
