2024 unit information

In this unit you engage in a fieldwork placement with a performing arts company or performance maker. Grounded in principles of 'thick description' and rehearsal ethnography, this placement provide you with experience on which you will base a substantial piece of writing that reflects and reports on the work of professional performance makers.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:

  • LO1. research the people involved in the theatre/performance company, organization, artist (or equivalent) you intend to observe
  • LO2. complete an ethics application
  • LO3. revise theoretical principles used in theatre and performance analysis
  • LO4. complete a placement with a theatre/performance company, organisation, artist (or equivalent)
