Located within the University of Sydney, our primary care team are here for you and your pet for all aspects of their veterinary care.

We provide a large range of general practice services including, wellness consultations, vaccinations, preventative health, diagnostic testing, dentistry and surgical services. Our friendly primary care team are here from Monday – Friday.

The primary care team, led by Dr Nicolle Kirkwood is highly skilled and comes with an array of experience from around Australia and the globe to bring the best possible care to you and your fur family. In 2019 Dr Kirkwood was certified as a Diplomate by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) in Canine and Feline Practice and is currently only one of two small animal veterinarians in Australia to hold such a qualification. She and the other veterinarians on the team hold or are seeking award of Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists, an indicator within the profession of advanced practitioner status in disciplines such as small animal medicine, feline medicine and dentistry.

UVTHS is a state-of-the-art facility with access to high-end diagnostics and treatments and our primary care veterinarians work closely with specialist services and researchers which ensures the best possible care for all the animals we see. In addition, we have the feline friendly, Valentine Charlton Cat Centre to ensure our feline and canine patients are treated in separate areas of the hospital to ensure everyone is kept calm and stress free.
