Oncology

A referral service for patients diagnosed with cancer
Our philosophy is to improve and maintain the quality of life in pets with cancer.

The oncology service at the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Sydney offers a referral service for patients diagnosed with cancer. The clinicians have advanced training in the diagnosis, treatment and palliative care options for oncology patients. The philosophy of the service is to improve and maintain the quality of life in pets with cancer. This is achieved through the use of advanced diagnostics, surgery with specialist surgeons, chemotherapy and supportive care. Novel and advanced treatments are available for certain cancers because of collaborations with clinical and research centres of the university.

Consultations are available from Monday to Friday. Admission into the hospital is often required during the investigation of your pet utilising the state of the art facilities and specialist support. For unwell patients there is a 24 hour veterinary care provided as well as a 24 hour emergency service.
