The Indigenous Strategy and Services portfolio of the University of Sydney emphatically endorsed the Uluru Statement from the Heart and supported the constitutional recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through a Voice to Parliament.

With the referendum defeated on 14 October, the Indigenous Strategy and Services portfolio reflects on the University's ongoing commitment to valuing, respecting and celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's knowledges and cultures.

"In many ways at the University, we say YES every day, particularly through our unwavering commitment to the One Sydney, Many People Strategy, affirming our dedication to inclusivity, diversity and the collective wellbeing of our community," said Professor Lisa Jackson Pulver, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Strategy and Services)

"We say YES to Indigenous research and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing and being – all of which shape us as a uniquely Australian world-class University."
