Competition Days National Gallery of Victoria

Tuesday 14 October 

Angelo Candalepas graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney in 1992. In 1994, in the first months of practice, he won an international architecture competition for housing for “The Point”, Pyrmont. The project was the recipient of several accolades. Since establishing Candalepas Associates in 1999, Angelo has won and been shortlisted for several national and international competitions, including the National Gallery of Victoria Contemporary project, soon to be Australia’s largest gallery dedicated to contemporary art and design.

ADP Partnerships Salon

Thursday 23 October, 11.00am - 2.00pm

This salon has two parts, the first focused on introducing MDIs, the second on raising awareness about past and present research with MDIs at ADP. The events aim at demystifying MDIs by providing an overview of their work and how that intersects with current research at ADP, so that new partnerships may be identified, facilitated and, eventually, flourish.

Façade Futures: Academia-Industry Collaboration for Planetary Solutions

The Society of Façade Engineering (SFE) and the School of Architecture, Design and Planning (ADP) at the University of Sydney are co-hosting Façade Futures, a forum exploring the challenges and opportunities for collaboration between academia and industry in tackling planetary-scale issues. By reimagining façades as buildings’ critical interface between indoor and outdoor environments, the event highlights how innovative façade design and technologies play a pivotal role in shaping resilient, sustainable, and safer urban environments.
