2022 Global Voices Scholarships

27 July 2022
Represent the voices of Australian youth at key international summits
The Global Voices Scholarships will see two lucky students represent Australia at either the United Nations Climate Change Conference, held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt* or at the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in New York.

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is proud to announce its continued support of the Global Voices scholarships—fully funded and ideal for students who are interested in and passionate about making meaningful change in global climate policy, gender equality, social and economic policy, human rights, and international development.

The scholarships include domestic and international flights, accommodation, insurance, and registration fees.

The program includes participation in both a domestic and international delegation, as well as private meetings with subject matter and policy experts, esteemed academics, Commonwealth Government Departmental Secretaries, Members of the Australian Parliament, and leaders of civil-society and private organisations.

Global Voices COP27 Scholarship

The Global Voices COP27 Scholarship will see one student represent Australia at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, more commonly referred to as COP27, held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, in 2022.

*Please note: According to Smartraveller by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, ‘Egypt Overall: Reconsider your need to travel’, with ‘Level 3: Reconsider your need to travel’, and ‘Level 4: Do not travel’, ratings. As such, this destination is classified by the University of Sydney as high risk and needs a risk assessment and approval to proceed, so participation is not guaranteed. You may continue to apply, and we will update you once a decision is determined.
