The Digital Media Unit (DMU) is a team of technical staff who support media production for teaching and research in the Discipline of Media and Communications (MECO) and at Sydney College of the Arts (SCA).
Staff and students in MECO and at SCA can borrow audio, video and photography equipment from the DMU’s Equipment Loans Store. The team also supplies equipment for in-class needs, supports a range of media production studios, and maintains and operates a 200-seat digital cinema (Old Geology).
The DMU runs audio, video and mixed reality production studios on the Camperdown campus, including the FASS Media Room, which produces high-quality content supporting teaching and research across the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Swipe through the photos to see the studios in action.
The DMU’s Equipment Loans Store is home to an array of audio, video and photography equipment. If you are undertaking units of study in MECO or at SCA, you will be directed to the Loans Store to help complete your production projects.
Eligible students can book equipment and studio spaces through the DMU’s online booking system. If you are studying a production-based unit, please log in as early in the semester as possible to set up your account. Before making a booking, please read the Loans and Returns Policy, Suspension Policy, Studio Policy and Getting Started Guide, all available on the DMU’s website. The Loans Store is located on Level 3 of the Education Building (A35) on the Camperdown campus. Walk down Manning Road and use the main building entrance, next to the Old Teacher’s College.
