Our Professional Engagement Program (PEP) develops your workplace competencies and transferable employability skills that companies look for in engineering graduates.
The program is embedded within all our undergraduate engineering degrees accredited by Engineers Australia.
Professional Practice, engagement and exposure is at the heart of becoming an engineer. From your first day with us, you will begin building the skills, experiences, and connections that shape you into a future practitioner. This journey continues throughout your degree, with every opportunity designed to bring you closer to the professional world and prepare you for your engineering career.
Instead of the traditional 12-week summer placement undertaken between third and fourth year, you can complete a minimum of 420 hours of professional learning activities commencing from your first semester.
These activities may include extra-curricular opportunities such as site visits, career-focused workshops, industry events, and networking activities.
The requirement can be met through a combination of actual work experience and/or approved flexible activities, including the extra-curricular options listed above.
This combination of experiences is designed to enhance your technical engineering-focused skills development, transferable skills development and professional engineering practice making you ready to be a skilled engineer in industry.
