Industry and community engagement

Work on current projects in partnership with business, the public sector and community organisations
The University of Sydney has developed Industry and Community Project Units (ICPUs), which provide senior students from all disciplines, including Law, the opportunity to work together on real-world problems for industry partners.

For a semester, or intensively in summer and winter, students work in interdisciplinary groups to address a wide range of contemporary issues. Combined Law students who are in years 1, 2 and 3 enrol in the faculty shell unit relevant to their non-law degree, while Bachelor of Laws and Juris Doctor students who are in their final or penultimate year and have completed at least 48 credit points of core law units, can enrol in an Interdisciplinary Project.

At the same time, the Sydney Law School offers elective units that will give you the opportunity to work on law-related projects with industry and community partners such as Community Legal Centres NSW, NSW Public Defenders, and NSW Police.
