The University Centre for Rural Health is a vibrant, collaborative academic hub for rural health development.
We deliver a high-quality education program designed to build an effective health workforce committed to the health needs of rural communities throughout Australia. Our education programs include all major health fields from our campuses in Lismore and Grafton. We are supported by our teaching and accommodation hubs in Ballina, Maclean, Kyogle and Casino, and a range of partner and placement sites across the Northern Rivers.
We also offer continuing professional development through a state-of-the-art Simulation Centre and operate the Northern NSW Regional Training Hub in partnership with the Northern NSW Local Health District.
We conduct leading research programs that contribute to large-scale health services and environmental health research collaborations, ranging from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander primary health care to the impacts of climate change on individual health.
We place hundreds of students every year at a range of partner and placement sites across the Northern Rivers.

Our researchers have gained a national and international reputation, with funding support regularly received from the National Health and Medical Research Council, Australian Research Council and other government agencies and support bodies.
