Join Curator, Art at the Chau Chak Wing Museum Katrina Liberiou for a guided tour of the exhibition Terraforming: Works from the Gene and Brian Sherman Collection.

Katrina will guide you through the exhibition which celebrates the work of contemporary Chinese artists: Ai Weiwei, Xu Bing, Zhang Huan, Shen Shaomin, Yang Fudong and Yang Zhichao, who all radically re-shaped the creative landscape in China to make space for new ideas, forms and voices, positioning Chinese artists on the global stage.

About our speakers

Katrina Liberiou is Curator, Art at the Chau Chak Wing Museum, where she works across the exhibition program, artist commissions – including public art – and assists in the management of the University Art Collection.

Previously, she worked at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia in its exhibitions team from 1998–2004 and from 2004–09 at the Biennale of Sydney as exhibition manager.

Katrina's research interests include international and Australian contemporary art with a particular interest in photography, performance and installation. Since 2017, Katrina has been researching the life and work of artist Lily Greenham.

Her recent projects include Undying: Abdul-Rahman Abdullah (2026), Big Power Energy: Artists and the Power Collection (2025), Consuelo Cavaniglia, seeing through you (2025) and Photography and the Performative (2024).
