Time travel back to the 20s and 30s.
We celebrate the works and legacy of J.W. Power with a special evening.
Purchase a drink from the Host Co. museum bar and view the exhibitions while enjoying jazz music of the era of Power in Paris of the 1920s–1930s interwar and modernist era. The band will draw on a repertoire from early swing, Parisian café jazz, and American standards of the time as you enjoy the exhibitions.
The evening will include floor talks by curators Dr Ann Stephen and Katrina Liberou and by artists who will speak to the works of J.W. Power and the incredible influence of the Power collection.
This event marks the end of the exhibitions J .W. Power: Art, war and the avant-garde and Big Power Energy.

Funkd is a Sydney-based big band made up of students from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Directed by Alex Putra, the ensemble performs regularly at private functions, festivals, and community events, mainly focusing on jazz and big band music.
This five-piece band represents the sub-ensemble Jazzd, a group popular for smaller ensemble music at weddings, birthdays, corporate events, and formal occasions wanting a more intimate sound exclusively exploring the jazz age.
