We are conducting a research study about the linguistic repertoires, language practices, and identity experiences of Chinese international students studying in Australia. The study aims to understand how students use different languages in academic and everyday contexts, and how these experiences relate to identity and belonging.
Participation in this study involves completing an anonymous online survey (approximately 10 minutes). At the end of the survey, participants may also choose to express interest in an optional Language Portrait activity and/or a follow-up interview. In the optional Language Portrait activity, participants will create their own visual representation of their language experiences (approximately 15–20 minutes), and the follow-up interview will take approximately 45–60 minutes.
• Aged 18 years or older
• Currently enrolled as an international student at an Australian university
• Self-identify as Chinese
