Pacific Views

Monday 4 – Friday 8 July and Monday 11 – Friday 15 July at 10am–12pm

How much do you know about Australia's neighbours? Join the Museum's Education team for a fun-filled journey to the Pacific through poetry, music, photos and maps. Learn more about Pasifika culture and customs, and get to know items in the Museum collection from the region. Visit the exhibition and explore our vast archives of historic photographs from the Pacific.

Our current exhibition 'Light & Darkness' explores luminal, kinetic and conceptual works of art. Join our Education team for a fun-filled creative workshop and learn more about the works featured in the exhibition and create your very own artwork inspired by the show.

Roman Armour

The Romans are famous for their military skill, with Roman soldiers often the first thing we think of when we imagine ancient Rome. But what was it really like to be a Roman solider?

In this fun talk with Museum educators Rhiannon and Mitch, learn how Roman soldiers dressed and lived, and discover how heavy Roman armour was by trying it on yourself.
